چکیده

Matching is a central problem in image analysis and pattern recognition. In order to develop a matching algorithm that provides the optimal fit (i.e. “center-on” fit attempting to position the model points at equal spacing from the target image) between the model and distorted target images, a hierarchical modified Chamfer matching system with the simulated annealing is proposed in this paper. Since efficiency and accuracy are important issues in image matching, the proposed approach employs a hierarchical approach (i.e. multiresolution pyramid) to speed up the matching process and then the simulated annealing is applied to the modified Chamfer matching scheme to achieve the optimal solution. Encouraging results have been achieved by the proposed technique. This suggests a strong potential alternative to automatic target recognition system.

Comparison between deep chamfer and 135 ̊ tooth preparation designs on marginal fit and marginal gap in posterior metal-ceramic crowns

Background and Aims: One of the most important challenges for dentists is providing a crown with appropriate marginal fit and gap. The 135-degree tooth preparation found to have some advantages such as technical ease and appropriate finish line record. Despite the advantages of 135-degree tooth preparation, scant research has been done in this area. Therefore, the aim of this study was to compa...

Boosting Chamfer Matching by Learning Chamfer Distance Normalization

We propose a novel technique that significantly improves the performance of oriented chamfer matching on images with cluttered background. Different to other matching methods, which only measures how well a template fits to an edge map, we evaluate the score of the template in comparison to auxiliary contours, which we call normalizers. We utilize AdaBoost to learn a Normalized Oriented Chamfer...

Learning Discriminative Chamfer Regularization

Chamfer matching is an effective and widely used technique for detecting objects or parts thereof by their shape. However, a serious limitation is its susceptibility to background clutter. The primary reason for this is that the presence of individual model points in a query image is measured independently. A match with the object model is then represented by the sum of all the individual model...

Modified Chamfer Matching Algorithm

Image matching is an important task. There are many available methods for occluded image matching. In this paper we propose new simple image-matching algorithm, modified chamfer matching algorithm (MCMA). Distance transform and conventional chamfer matching algorithm are explained. Examples to demonstrate the algorithm and necessary results are also included. Proposed MCMA is robust, and to an ...
